The circuit was set up as shown in the diagram. The length of the wire was measured by using a meter ruler. The lengths that I chose were 1m, 0.8m, 0.6m and 0.4m. The lengths were measured from one terminal to the other. When the power pack was switched on, I recorded the voltage and then I recorded the current and the reading were recorded on the results table. The experiment was then repeated 6 more times with the same length of wire, but using different voltages. This was then repeated using different lengths of constantan wire. I measured the diameter of the constantan wire with a michrometer screw-gauge, I measured the diameter at different positions along wire, the diameter was then recorded. I then calculated the average diameter from the measurements. After every reading that was taken, the power pack was switched off because if it was left on, then the circuit would overheat. I kept the voltages fairly low so that it would not heat the wire too much, and that would affect the rest of my results, and therefore affect the resistivity of the constantan wire. I kept the diameter of the wire constant by using the same piece of constantan wire so that the diameter would not change.

When using analogue apparatus, such as a full-scale deflection voltmeter or ammeter, you have to be careful of the parallax error. • The power pack might have not been turned off when I was changing the length of the constantan wire, so the heat would build up, leading to more resistance on the next reading that I was going to do.

If I was going to make improvements to the experiment, I would have tried to make the constantan wire length as accurate as can be.

To also improve on my results I would use a digital voltmeter instead of an analogue voltmeter. I would do this because a digital voltmeter is a lot more accurate than an analogue one because if the needle in the analogue voltmeter is bent then the readings will be false whereas a digital voltmeter does not rely on a needle.

A person could make a dramatic change of character when they go from a heart of good to a heart of evil. Macbeth is motivated to kill Duncan by Lady Macbeth, but Macbeth is then motivated by fate, and finally motivated by impulse to carry out his next succession of crimes. He was already Thane of Glamis and he becomes Thane of Cawdor shortly after the execution of the previous Thane, but one prophecy sticks in his mind. He is to become King. Macbeth had the thoughts of becoming King but there was no way he would ever think of murdering his King. He had neither the heart nor determination to do such a violent act. He expresses his discomfort with this in a soliloquy. That tears shall down the wind. I have no spur to prick the sides of my intent, but only vaulting ambition, which o'erleaps itself, and falls on the other. Macbeth mentions he has no motive to do the deed. However, his wife and closet companion Lady Macbeth, seemed very interested in having her husband become king. She made it known to Macbeth that the only way he would become king is to murder Duncan. Macbeth talks about how he does not want to murder his King but Lady Macbeth starts to taunt Macbeth and accuse him of being a coward and not loving her. She finally mentions that murdering the king would be a noble achievement and not a savage crime. Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth the perfect plan of making the guards drunk and using them to cover up Macbeth's dirty work. With Lady Macbeth's support and instructions, Macbeth carries out his first murder.

With Duncan's death, and Malcolm leaving for England, the throne was now empty for Macbeth. Even though Macbeth has become king, he is not as happy or content, as he would like to be. He feels the crown has brought him nothing so far in the quote Upon my head they plac'd a fruitless crown, and put a barren sceptre in my gripe. Thence to be wrench'd with an unlineal hand. Macbeth decides that it is fate for him to kill Banquo for Macbeth will not have any sons of his own to become kings. Macbeth is so determined to kill Banquo that he does not tell Lady Macbeth of his plan until long after the deed is done. The murderers kill Banquo, and fate according to Macbeth has shown him the way.

Macbeth has now successfully carried out two murders but the other lords have now begun to figure out that Macbeth was responsible for the murders of Duncan and Banquo. At this point, Macbeth has become so filled with evil thoughts that he realizes that the only way he can cover up his evil intentions is to be more evil in heart and in mind and not look back anymore at what he has done in the past.
