As I sit here reminising of the days with my father, I realize just how of an amazing man he was. He possessed wisdom, passion, intelligence, and so much more. He had it all, but his health.

Throughout my life he was always there, whether it was a track meet, beta, award ceremony, or anything. He was there whenever, wherever, for whatever.

He taught me so much. He taught me aabout pain, lov, grace, and never giving up.....ever.

Although his fight ended on may 11,00, I know he is here with me always. i only hope I can be half the parent to my children as he was to me.

He fought his way through one surgery, two surgeries, three surgeries, and then two more surgeries. Then he made it through a lung surgery and a gal bladder surgery. He took twelve pills a day, coffed up blood, came close to cardiac arrest atleat once a week, and had atleast one blood transfusion a month. All my life all I ever knew of my dad was him with an illness. I came to accept the fact that he might be gone one day, atleast I thought I had accepted it. Now that it actually happened, I cant acceept it. I wish I had appreciated him more while he was here. Before he died he always said I would understand him when he was gone. I thought he was crazy. Now I realize just how right he was.

The doctors never could figure him out. They said he would die all his life. It must have been every five weeks, they gave him a new diagnoses. We went through so much drama with that stuff. Even after his death, his doctors or nurses would call and ask for him. When I told them he had passed, they would freak out. One woman started crying. I felt so bad for her. It made me realize how much he affected other peoples lives. Please note that this sample paper on Never Ever Give up is for your review only. The Bulls began a dynasty in the 0s that could not be matched by a number of sports franchises. They were often compared to the Yankees of the 0s because of the amount of titles won between the two teams. When Michael Jordan first began his year as a rookie, there was little doubt that he would turn the Bulls into the 6 time Champions that they became. As a rookie, Jordan showed a freakish amount of skill that would make him the greatest player of all time. When the Bulls brought Scottie Pippen in the team became more of a contender all though it still could not find a way to win a title. After the Bulls brought in some more role players they swept their arch-rivals the Pistons in the playoffs and went on to beat the Lakers in the NBA Finals. The Bulls would then add Dennis Rodman who turned out to be a great rebounder for them and the Bulls flourished from then on. After winning five more championships Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time would call it quits. As Michael left, so did Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman. Toni Kukoc their best remaining player would also leave. The Bulls then suffered and became one of the worst teams in the NBA. They did have some bright spots though as they drafted some young talent such as Eddie Cury, Jason Williams, and Elton Brand. However, Brand would be traded and Williams would get into a motorcycle accident that will make him miss a long amount of time and might even be a career ending injury. The Bulls re-acquired Scottie Pippen and are now looking like a pretty good team unlike the last couple of years.

Cannabis Should it be Legal or Not?

The debate of legalizing cannabis is a social debate which every individual has his/her own opinion,Who is right? The outcome of this couldnt possibly please everyone.Below are the most common arguements for both sides for legalizing cannabis.

AGAINST

Some of the most popular arguements against legalizing cannabis are that people under the influence of the drug act out of order and it is a doorway drug to harsher more dangerous drug use. Also crime rates will increase and the drug will be readily available to the countrys youth. The drug is also dangerous and causes lung cancer.

FOR

On the other hand the arguements for the legalizing cannabis are that the influence of the drug makes the user more creative and lowers their stress levels. Also according to certain campaigns it will eliminate the need for smuggling and dealers on the streets, and will decrease the crime rate. Cannabis has medical values like MS sufferrers as it can decrease the symtoms of the disease and decreases the pain level, and no one has ever died from smoking cannabis.

MY OPINION

Personally i believe that cannabis should not be an over-the-counter drug, for varoius reasons. One being that if cannabis was legalized it would make it harder for serious users to become clean, also younger youths would become users due to it being easier to obtain. This drug should be used for medical purposes only because then it is used in the correct amount and properly maybe ease people with termonal diseases to help them have a slightly better quality of life and not just for a persons own personal pleas

A private communications channel leased from a common carrier. It can be ordered in pairs, providing a four-wire channel for full-duplex transmission (dial-up system provides only two-wire lines). To improve line quality, it canalso be conditioned. (Freedman, 001, p.0)

Two types of Leased Lines are usually offered, Analogue Leased Lines and Digital Leased Lines. Digital Leased Lines offering is more flexible than Analogue Leased Lines in terms of bandwidth, and reaches much higher bandwidth than Analogue Leased Lines. Digital Leased Lines also offer a better quality of service. (Mpt, 000)

¡°Point-to-point leased line technology is well understood and very reliable. An organization can count on steady, uninterrupted bandwidth and low, predictable delay between two sites when it installs a leased line¡± (Feit, 1, p.11).

However, leased lines have a number of disadvantages. They are costly to set up. Monthly charges are proportional to distance and are substantial. The cost of a fully meshed network is very steep if the sites are far from one another (Feit, 1, p.11)

Value Added Network Facilities (VAN)

A value-added network (VAN) is a private network provider (sometimes called a turnkey communications line) that is hired by a company to facilitate electronic data interchange (EDI) or provide other network services. (SearchNetworking, 00)

Before the arrival of the World Wide Web, some companies hired value-added networks to move data from their company to other companies. With the arrival of the World Wide Web, many companies found it more cost-efficient to move their data over the Internet instead of paying the minimum monthly fees and per-character charges found in typical VAN contracts. In response, contemporary value-added network providers now focus on offering EDI translation, encryption, secure e-mail, management reporting, and other extra services for their customers. There are many similarities between the people of the 6th century and the people of today. Though civilization was completely different, the emotions and actions of the people of the 6th century have remained the same. In the beginning of Beowulf, it is understood that Hrothgar built a mead hall called Heorot. This was a place for the people of his kingdom to get together, share drinks, and entertain each other. While in the mead hall, the song of Gods creation angered Grendel. Grendel, being a decedent of Cane, began killing because he did not agree with what the others believed. This kind of behavior has a direct relationship with the present. People today will riot, beat, and kill people who disagree with what they believe. All to often, innocent people are killed for exercising their right of freedom of speech. However, that is only one of the bad characteristics that were passed on to society today. In the time of Beowulf, It was important to be known. In order for people to be respected and have a good reputation, a person had to be brave, strong, fearless, and powerful. Unfortunately, reputations today are branded upon people good or bad, which somehow entitles a person to form a lasting impression and feel like they know whom you are. With that said, everyone trying to be the best, of course, becomes jealous. When Beowulf arrived to defeat Grendel, Unferth wanted the others to believe that Beowulf would be unsuccessful due to a swimming match against Breca. It is interesting that being as religious as they are; there was still a great deal of envy and boastfulness. It is sad to think that the popularity contest and the narrow-minded people date back to the 6th century.

Superman

Day after day, the clock above Sonny's head slowly ticks, "Tick… tock… tick… tock." The prisoner's weary eyes, blood-shot red from endless days of travail, are aching in need of rest. His only possession is the faded picture of his 5-year old wife, Nikki, preciously holding their 11-month old son, John.

On a dark and lonely night, Sonny reaches into his back pocket for this wrinkled, seven-year old photo. As Sonny dreamily gazes at this picture, a drop of blood from the gash on his cheek falls like a raindrop on the edge of the photo. Weakly, he holds the photo up to the small beam of moonlight scattered from the bars toward the top of the solid wall. The unforgettable past flashes into his vulnerable mind, and the crying of words from his wife, "Don't go! Don't go!" races to his head. Then the nightmares of his capture in the Vietnam War come to life in this daze of unconsciousness. As Sonny snaps out of this frightening flashback, his hand holding the photo shakes of fear and pure lifelessness. To Sonny, these bars surrounding him were not just keeping him away from freedom, but from the life he's missing with his family.

With a pencil quivering in Sonny's right hand, and a tattered piece of paper in his left, he begins to write a letter with every last drop of strength in his arms. It reads…

Dear Johnny Boy,

It is December , 171, two days before Christmas, and three days before your eighth birthday. Time flies, days pass, and my heart keeps beating. There was not a single day that has gone by in this prison that I didn't want to end my life. This might be hard for you to understand, but one interesting lesson I learned during this seven-year period of isolation was hope. First, you gain it, and then it keeps increasing until you reach the point when you decide that hope won't do any good in prison. Second, everything you ever hoped for is lost in one split second. Soon, your reason for breathing fades away. I have gone through this cycle constantly, and the only reason why I pick up myself to start all over again, is you. I don't have any possessions or presents that I can give you for Christmas, but the only gift I can give to you, is my appreciation for you rescuing me during the winter of my life. Thank you. Please note that this sample paper on Quee is for your review only. Never can Escape Work

On August 14th, on the day of the biggest blackout recorded in the United States, I was working. I work at Chianti IL Restaurant, in Saratoga Springs. It is one of the major restaurants in Saratoga.

I was working in the back of the restaurant, and suddenly the lights turned off, and than a minute later the lights turned on again. I thought to my self that it was just a malfunction, but than it happened again, and continued to do it about 5 more times. At this time our security alarm was going off, our cooks were mad because they could not prep there food because nothing worked, and everyone was wondering what was going on.

Than suddenly the power turned back on, but only at half power, than 10 minutes later we were back to full power, this occurrence all happened an hour before the restaurant opened, so there were no customers in the restaurant at this time. Everyone in my work just thought it was a local power outage, nothing significant. One waiter thought a car hit an electric pole, while other people thought squirrels bit through an electrical line.

Cheap college papers on The Big Blackout

So I went on with my work duties, and when I went outside to go get something from my car, I saw that all the traffic lights were not working, and everyone in there cars were frustrated and angry because the traffic was not progressing smoothly. I went next door to Stewarts to buy a drink, and there power was off, and they were giving out free ice cream because there freezers weren't working. I than went across the street to Dunkin Donuts to get a bagel, and there power was off also. My work than called there other restaurant to see if they had power, and they did not.

We were the only restaurant in town with power. All of the employees were angry because they wanted to get sent home. The cooks turned on the radio while they were prepping food, and that is when all of us found out what was happening. The radio announcer told us that there was a power outage from Canada, to Detroit, all the way down pass New York City. August 14th was the busiest day my work ever had, we had a hour wait, people were waiting, inside, outside, and all around the building. Have you ever wondered what life was like for a writer growing up? The passage from Welty's autobiography "On Writers Beginnings" shows the early experiences of reading and how books later impacted the life of writers like Welty. Welty uses imagery, diction, and alliteration to convey the intensity and value of her experiences of reading as a child.

Welty uses imagery to show how great these experiences impacted her life. Welty shows imagery when describing how she went into the library she saw big black letters in the library, that said silence but the librarian talked in her normal voice. Welty was showing how the how the librarian was in control. Welty also talks about how the librarian would watch the people come in the library and if you were a girl and she could see right through your skirt the librarian would send you right home. Welty paints vivid pictures of her experiences growing up through imagery.

Vivid diction is also used in Weltys' passage. An example is in line 5, about how the librarian would watch the front door by saying "… her dragon eye…" and by saying "… her strong eye…" in line 15 when describing the librarian and how she watched the door of the library. Welty also uses specific words when she talks about her first being introduced to the librarian when she says, " … I saw I had met a witch" in lines 4, showing how mean and evil the librarian was. In lines 10 she talks about how the librarian's voice could be heard above "… a steady seething sound" from the librarian's fan. The diction that Welty uses creates an image in your mind of what it was like to be around the librarian at a young age.

Welty uses alliteration throughout the passage. An example is the word silence which was written everywhere in the library in "…big black letters…" on line 7. Welty does this to shows emphasis on the word silence. Alliteration was also used in Welty' passage when she talks about how many books she read. On line 44 she shows her love for reading by stating " so two by two.." which was how she borrowed books from the library.

Weltys' autobiography shows the obstacles that a young writer encounters growing up. All of Weltys' experiences were valuable to her because they made her love for reading grow stronger and eventually resulted in her becoming a great writer. Please note that this sample paper on A writers life is for your review only. BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Insulin is a protein hormone secreted from the Beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin is produced when there is a high level of sugar in the blood, insulin acts on cells in the body to help reduce blood sugar levels. Diabetics, who suffer from lack of insulin production, must rely on technology to produce insulin. Using Recombinant DNA Technology is one way artificial insulin can be produced. The processes for isolating and producing large amounts of insulin require specific enzymes, other bacteria and of course sophisticated technology. In this project, we 'll be discussing terms such as Restriction Enzymes they are specific proteins that speed up chemical reactions. Providing the right conditions they 'cut' DNA strands at specific locations, usually between the Guanine (G) and Adenine (A) bases. Restriction enzymes recognise specific sequences of DNA, and cut at these points. Similarly, another enzyme, called DNA Ligase, will also be discussed. The enzyme Ligase joins pieces of double stranded DNA at their sugar-phosphate backbones. The bonds that form here are strong (covalent) bonds. When isolating and cloning the gene - ligase, restriction enzymes and a vector, such as a plasmid found in bacteria, are used. A Vector (plasmid), is a small circular piece of DNA found in bacteria. Because bacteria multiply in large amounts by binary fission, they're used to manufacture and clone large amounts of insulin in a short amount of time, as the vector will have the insulin gene inserted. Thus cloning the insulin gene also. JOINING DNA FRAGMENTS

In gene manipulation, the joining of pieces of DNA with sticky ends to make one circular piece is sometimes required. The enzyme LIGASE (pic 71) joins pieces of double stranded DNA at their sugar-phosphate backbones. The bonds that form are strong (covalent) bonds.

TRANSPORTING DNA INTO CELL

School papers on Biology: Insulin.

Special carriers or vectors can transport DNA fragments into cells, such as bacteria. One example of a vector is a small circular DNA molecule, called a plasmid, found in bacteria. Under certain conditions plasmids can cross cell membranes and enter a cell. When it moves from outside to inside, it carries any passenger DNA which has been joined to it.Please note that this sample paper on Biology: Insulin. is for your review only. According to Kennedy's An Introduction To Fiction, themes are "generally recurring subjects or ideas conspicuously evident in a literary work" (8). A literary work will usually disclose an idea that the reader is supposed to pick up on through various ways such as the title of the story, characters, and symbols. The first chapter of Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man, "Battle Royal," paves the road for revealing the general theme of invisibility throughout the story.

In the first paragraph of the story, the narrator informs his audience that he is invisible when he says "I had to discover that I am an invisible man!" After this self proclamation, one might ask in what ways the narrator of "Battle Royal" is invisible. One example of how the narrator is invisible comes from the advice of his grandfather as he was dying. His grandfather advises maintaining two identities by being good slaves on the surface filled with resentment on the inside. "I want you to overcome 'em with yeses, undermine 'em with grins" (578). This makes the narrator invisible in the sense that his masters do not really see his true feelings and attitudes toward them.

Another way in which the narrator is invisible is because he isn't seen in the same light as white men are. Because the white men are blind with racial prejudice, the narrator is automatically forced into a life of invisibility. When he accidentally uses the term "social equality" instead of "social responsibility" in his oration, he realizes just how invisible he really is because a man shouts at him, "You've got to know your place at all times" (587). The narrator is invisible because blind people make up the society that cannot view him for his true character, and he must fight to establish his own identity.

Finally, the narrator becomes "invisible" when he is fighting in the "Battle Royal" with the other boys. The white men force them to wear blindfolds, which essentially makes the narrator invisible to the other boys within the ropes. The blindfolds are a powerful symbol in the story that enhance the the idea of the "invisible man." The blindfolds symbolize how helpless the black boys are they don't yet "see" that they are invisible to the white men. The grandfather's advice, racial prejudice on behalf of the white men, and the blindfolds all come together to reveal the theme of invisibility to Ellison's audience.

Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte Review

Anne Bronte is often overlooked in favour of her sisters Emily and Charlotte - the former for her unprecedented power, the latter for her daring met with reserve. Anne is in many ways the other Bronte - less is known of her, very little survives of her, and less attention is paid her. All we really have of her is her writing - her two novels, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Agnes Grey, and numerous poems.

Agnes Grey is Annes second and last novel - she died aged 8 of the same consumption that killed her brother and sister Emily. It is a placid, sanguine little novel - it contains little of the verve of Wuthering Heights nor the genius of Jane Eyre, but it is in its own way brilliant as a melancholy description of Annes own experiences as an educated though poor woman forced into the profession of governance.

Agnes, like Anne, is depicted as a poor Pastors daughter, and a change in circumstances pushes her happy family into dire straits. A naive young woman, Agnes suggests to her family that she seeks a position. They are unhappy about this but with her insistence, allow her to enter the home of the Bloomfields, to take charge of their young children. Her enthusiasm and hopefulness is soon dashed when it becomes apparent that she is to be treated with contempt, allowed little scope for discipline and then denigrated for not keeping control, and detested by everyone in the household. This is her first experience of what it is like to be a governess - and she realises that she will never be able to exercise her good intentions whilst in her unhappy role in life.

Her next job takes her further afield and into no less a disagreeable place. This time her charges are two young sisters, and she struggles to impart some sort of values onto them. She fails again - these young girls are in flirtatious and uncouth, and disregard everything Agnes teaches them. It seems a hopeless cause. By this time the depressed young governess has given up any hope of ever being self-sufficient or of finding happiness. But a happy ending is in sight - a chance of being valued by someone dear to her. Can a woman not esteemed a beauty, nor endowed with wealth, still find her prince?

This is a story of woe that ends happily - this would mean little if not for the fact that all the Bronte sisters died so young, and struggled to find happy endings for themselves. The fact that in their imaginations dowdy governesses could find happiness is important. What they give us is the fact that young women growing up isolated and in intellectual abandon could still leave their mark, could still dream and could still change the world in their own subtle ways.

Internet users enjoy having their experiences on the Web customized to their own personal preferences. These users, however, give up their privacy by having their online activities tracked and personal information about them gathered through cookies and other methods. The personal data of users and their online activities is collected and then can be traced back to specific users. A method to protect users privacy has been developed called Managing Anonymity while Sharing Knowledge to Servers (Masks).

Masks creates a barrier between users and the websites they are using. This barrier can then control the information that is collected by the website. Masks also keeps third parties from collecting information on the user from links that the user may click on to visit various websites. The article identifies six privacy protection layers Awareness, Control, Privacy-Enhancing Tools, Privacy Policies, Privacy and Trust Certification, and Privacy-Protection Laws. According to the article nothing yet exists to encompass all six layers because some of the layers vary by country. Masks, however, does consist of the privacy-protection layers of Awareness, Control, and Privacy-Enhancing Tools.

Masks allows a user to wear a ¡°mask¡± as such in that the user cannot be directly identified, but instead the user appears part of a group that has certain interests and characteristics. The user can then only be traced to this group, which has certain identifiable characteristics. Masks users can wear different ¡°masks¡± when visiting different websites so that the user can show different interests and characteristics at any given time. The Masks framework consists of two key components. These components are the Masks server, which is described above and assigns users to groups, and privacy and security agent (PSA). The privacy and security agent (PSA) component allows users to turn ¡°masks¡± off and on depending on if the user wishes to allow a website to collect information and associate it directly back to that user. The PSA can also block cookies and Web bugs to protect the users privacy.

Masks has six major benefits according to the article. These benefits are privacy protection, partial personalization, safety, transparency, efficiency, and flexibility. Masks is also said to offer interoperability and be easy to use. Masks collects no information about users except a request to a particular website. From the beginning, the Nazi Party had campaigned against the Jewish people, but many of the people voting for the Nazis did not think they would act upon these ideas. Even Jewish people had voted for the Nazi Party not believing that the threats would be carried out. However it was evident that the Nazi's intentions for the Jewish people would be acted upon, when within the first few days of taking power, the Nazis boycotted all of the Jewish businesses.

Even though little was organised to persecute the Jewish people in the first two years of the Nazi rule, streams of anti-Jewish propaganda were still being produced as it had in previous years. By 15, Hitler had achieved many of his initial aims, and decided that he was now in the position to take action on the Nazi's more extreme measures. He began this by the separation of the Jewish people and the Aryans.

From then on the Nazis did all they could to remove the Jewish people from the German society. A boycott of all Jewish shops, lawyers and doctors all over the country left many Jews unemployed. The amount of anti-Jewish propaganda was increased and began introducing the Nazi's new racist ideas. In May 15, Jews were forbidden to join the army, and by September the Nuremberg Laws were passed. This meant that marriages between Jews and Aryans were forbidden, as were sexual relationships outside marriage. The Reich Citizenship Law made Jews 'subjects' rather than citizens, which removed them of many of their rights.

In 17, more Jewish businesses were confiscated and Hitler made his first outspoken attack on the Jews in two years. After that, they had to register their property making it easier to confiscate by the police and Jewish doctors, dentists and lawyers were forbidden to treat Aryans. They also had to have their passports stamped with a red letter, 'J'.

On the -10 November 18, many Jews were attacked and huge amount of their property was destroyed. The trigger, which started off a chain of events that night, was the killing of Ernst von Rath, a German Embassy Official in Paris, by a Jew. It is estimated that 400 synagogues and 7500 shops were destroyed, 1 Jews were killed and 0,000 were sent to concentration camps.

Initially, the Nazis did not consider the Jews in much detail, as they were still aiming to gain seats at elections, produce propaganda and make promises to voters. However once this had been achieved, they were able to focus their attention on the Jewish people and the more they did so, the more the measure taken on them became extreme. As the Jews were unable to fight back as they did not want to start a war and were greatly outnumbered, there was little they could do as the persecution

Many reactions took place during the time of the Vietnam War. Some people protested against U.S. involvement in the war while others argued that we were fighting for a moral cause. These disputes are always something remembered when looking back on the emotional conflict of the Vietnam War. Many times the reactions and feelings of the soldiers fighting in Vietnam are somewhat overlooked. I would like to recognize this topic on my backboard by devoting the whole section "Reactions Then" to how the soldiers (Both Vietnamese and American) felt and reacted to the war.

After the Vietnam War ended and U.S. troops were withdrawn from Vietnam, many people felt angry towards them and did not respect them. Many soldiers were in mental tatters, and were scarred with images of the horror they witnessed in Vietnam. Even today some cannot forget those memories. Years after the war, the Vietnam Memorial was constructed. Finally people were paying tribute to the veterans of the war. Both of these are examples of reaction to the war. This is what the "Reactions Now" part of my backboard covers.

Hello, I am so sorry to have been so long in writing. I had every intention of getting around to it, but didn't. We had our house under contract early June but still had not even found a place to live by early July. Talk about stressed out! We were to close on the old house on August 1st with the hope of finding something within that time frame. Well, fortunately we found something the first week in July and fortunately the people were willing to close August 1st. We also needed to be quick about things because school started August 1th. The week before closing we had to get a Termite Letter. That was causing some trouble, about $00.00 worth! Closing on both homes turned out fine! We now live in Gem Lakes. It is a two-story brick home with a beautiful and tranquil yard. Everything is just about unpacked and the kids are adjusting to their new school. The school bus actually picks them up and drops them off right in front of the house. We never had that luxury in Riverbluff! Anyway, I'm starting to relax more now.

I sure hope the summer has been good to you. It went by fast and we didn't even get to enjoy it.

Take a minute to read this month's message. This is one area I truly believe in. When we are in the service of our fellowmen, then we are in the service of our God. I have had the wonderful opportunity of working with some neat people in our community. I work and volunteer at the ACTs of Caring Clinic. We help provide medical care and prescriptions for the low income and poor who have no insurance. I have learned so much while doing this. It sure has made me even more grateful for the blessings in my life. I'm sure you have rendered much service throughout your life and will continue to do so. Always remember that service is what Christianity is all about! Take care.

In the book The Stranger, Meursault is the main character that is a passive nonconformist. He will not do, as society wants him to. For this he is looked down on for this inability to meet society's expectations. Meursault is condemned because of his nonconformist beliefs.

Meursault did not concern himself with expressing emotion. He goes through his life avoiding the conveying of any emotion. His mother died and his response was Mother died today. Or maybe yesterday, I dont know (). This shows how little he cares even at his mother's death. Furthermore, during his mothers funeral, he hadnt cried once and hed left straight after the funeral without paying his respects at her grave (86). Society would expect certain emotions of grief at his mothers funeral. But he feels no need to show emotion so to others he is seen as different or a stranger. Meursault saw his life as absurd and meaningless. Society imposes religion upon its subjects, making it the reason for human existence. But religion for him seemed even more senselessness. This further separated him from society. Meursault actually denounced the practice of organized religion. Meursault's actions and beliefs cause him to be condemned to death. Even in the end he will not give in to society views when the priest implores Meursault to submit to God. Meursault said he didnt want to waste it on God (114).

Meursault is a man outcasted and condemned because of a failure to meet societys social expectations. He chooses to be different than society and is therefore seen as an outcast or A Stranger.

• He noted Americans enjoyed eating in exotic surroundings, but were deeply mistrustful of exotic foods.

• He learned that people enjoyed watching their food being prepared.

• He learned there was a shortage of skilled labour.

• He discovered that food storage and waste contributed to the overhead costs of a restaurant business.

In addition to all the above, he had a personal taste for 'historical authenticity'.

With the above criteria in mind he knew that he could sell a visual product and this was portrayed when he introduced a new concept of 'eatertainment' dining. This product involved the combination of teppanyaki-style eating and entertainment in an oriental atmosphere.

'Eatertainment' involves a highly skilled chef who prepares all meals at a 'hibachi' table in front of the clients. This preparation portrays the art of cooking with an exuberating performance by each chef as they chop, dice and juggle the food like samurai warriors as guests stare in amazement and awe. The teppanyaki-style eating gives the customers a sense of Japanese experience even though they are not eating exotic foods. The concept included a limited but very tasteful menu with the addition of various sauces.

It can be stated that the Benihana restaurant became a clear success with the 'eatertainment' product. With the blending of great food, teppanyaki style, and the knife cutting, entertainment experience, Benihana became a success in New York and hence other major cities across America. Please note that this sample paper on MAKE ME GOOD is for your review only.
