Lady Macbeth is highly duplicitous in the play Macbeth.

Although she appears to be completely inoccent. It is in fact her, rather than Macbeth, who is most to blame for the Murder of King Duncan and the turmoil which follows. It is her greed which powers the wishful thinking that Macbeth experiences when he hears the predictions of the witches at the start of the play. This will be later examined in my essay entitled What powers Macbeth? In this essay I will strive to show the true colours of Lady Macbeth and how in fact Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are equally to blame for their downfall if not that she is to blame more. For example, Macbeths guilt at the end of the book is visible in his consious mind (when he is awake) , this shows that he shows real guilt and wants to tell someone so that he can cleansed of his sins.Whereas, with Lady Macbeth, her guilt is only in her subconcious, her conscience interfering only when she is asleep. This shows that she does not wish anyone to find out what she has done but only to hide it.It is ironic that her trying to conceal the problem means that it is conveyed to her nurse through her sleep-talking.She maintained her cool whilst talking to Macbeth only to keep him silent by saying that she felt no guilt, although evidently she did.Macbeth is a play based on a real king who was nothing like the character in the play. It is unfair that scottish history be defaced in this way by Shakespeare. But did Shakespeare in fact write his plays. In the novel Flowers for Algernon the main character Charlie challenges this.Wsa it not that Shakespeare was illiterate. He surely could not read and write. Maybe someone else , a scotsman hating english king wrote Macbeth or maybe an it was indeed an angry Shakespeare.U must remember that to understand a novel u mist first understand its author.I must do research on the most famous English playright before I can truely understnad who Lady Macbeth was based on, if anyone at all.Could it be Shakespeares mother, sister, a girl on the street, school mistress, a real queen?

According to the International Labor Organization, in developing countries alone, at least 10 million children between the ages of 5 and 14 are working full time. Many of these children are working in hazardous and unhygienic conditions for extremely long periods of time, and earning very little pay. This is not something that has occurred over night. Throughout history in many places of the world, child labor has become an economic dependence. Since the industrial revolution a large number of children have worked in factories and sweat shops.

Today, high numbers of child labor occurs in poor, undeveloped, and third world countries. Due to the fact that the countries are poor, there are no strict law enforcement to protect children. Poverty is a factor, because poor people are vulnerable for exploitation. Child labor is the exploitation of the weak and the underprivileged.(ILO) If there are no laws or organizations that effectively protect them, the poor have to accept any wage offered, low as it may be.

This means that people may need to send their children to work just to feed and cloth them. The majority of victims are children of minorities or of (illegal) immigrants. This is a result of poor and in the minority groups need to find work and not having the proper working documentation, therefore having to work illegally. India accounts for the largest number of child workers in the world. According to the latest 11 census estimates, some 11.8 million children between the ages 5 and 14 are engaged in child labor.

Child labor is defined as children working too young, working long hours, working under strain, working on the streets, working for very little pay, working on dull repetitive tasks, having to take too much responsibility or being subject to intimidation. Child Labor takes a number of different forms including children working in small businesses, or working for families as servants or domestic help. Most child labor found in developing countries is within agricultural, informal or domestic fields, and not industrial. The most exploitative forms of child labor include child prostitution and forced and bonded labor which is found in some parts of the country. These situations where of there are girl child laborer in the country would call for particular attention.

According to Kennedy's An Introduction To Fiction, themes are "generally recurring subjects or ideas conspicuously evident in a literary work" (8). A literary work will usually disclose an idea that the reader is supposed to pick up on through various ways such as the title of the story, characters, and symbols. The first chapter of Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man, "Battle Royal," paves the road for revealing the general theme of invisibility throughout the story.

In the first paragraph of the story, the narrator informs his audience that he is invisible when he says "I had to discover that I am an invisible man!" After this self proclamation, one might ask in what ways the narrator of "Battle Royal" is invisible. One example of how the narrator is invisible comes from the advice of his grandfather as he was dying. His grandfather advises maintaining two identities by being good slaves on the surface filled with resentment on the inside. "I want you to overcome 'em with yeses, undermine 'em with grins" (578). This makes the narrator invisible in the sense that his masters do not really see his true feelings and attitudes toward them.

Another way in which the narrator is invisible is because he isn't seen in the same light as white men are. Because the white men are blind with racial prejudice, the narrator is automatically forced into a life of invisibility. When he accidentally uses the term "social equality" instead of "social responsibility" in his oration, he realizes just how invisible he really is because a man shouts at him, "You've got to know your place at all times" (587). The narrator is invisible because blind people make up the society that cannot view him for his true character, and he must fight to establish his own identity.

Finally, the narrator becomes "invisible" when he is fighting in the "Battle Royal" with the other boys. The white men force them to wear blindfolds, which essentially makes the narrator invisible to the other boys within the ropes. The blindfolds are a powerful symbol in the story that enhance the the idea of the "invisible man." The blindfolds symbolize how helpless the black boys are they don't yet "see" that they are invisible to the white men. The grandfather's advice, racial prejudice on behalf of the white men, and the blindfolds all come together to reveal the theme of invisibility to Ellison's audience.

The Wild-Goose Chase My Description and Opinions on Annie Dillards The Chase

Dillard's essay tells the story of an event in her childhood during winter when she was seven. Before describing this she gives us a brief history of herself as a child. She used to play both football and baseball with the boys during the summer. These boys were slightly older than Dillard and she seems to have prided herself on being as rough and tough as any of them. When it was too cold for football and baseball and there was enough snow on the ground, she would play snowball fights with the boys instead. Since she describes herself as having a "boy's arm" (7) for throwing baseballs, I imagine she was also formidable with a snowball in hand. In the event she describes in the essay she was with a group of boys waiting to throw their snowballs at passing cars. Then when one heralded its approach by the sound of snow chains clanking on the pavement, they readied themselves to pelt it with snow as normal. But, when they let loose, the driver pulled over and ran toward them. Soon the group of children split off and ran in different directions and Dillard was left being chased by this man with another boy ahead of her. Though she expected this driver to give up after scaring the children into fleeing he carried on running them down. He chased them over and around ten blocks before he caught them and at that point had to wait awhile to catch his breath before he could even start to speak. Then, with his suit covered in snow, he proceeded simply to tell them off. For a seven-year-old this was a huge anticlimax after the excitement of a chase all that happened was a routine dressing down.

I really like this essay. It's a very good description of the thoughts and feelings going through a child's mind. Which is an amazing feat considering the author wrote the essay many years after the fact. Though being chased by this man was frightening it obviously was also an exciting and exhilarating experience for her as well. She describes what happens as if it's a victory for her as a child, she got a kick out of being chased and all the man who chased her could do was scold a couple of little kids who aren't listening to him. Though at the same time she admired this man, a "sainted, skinny, furious redheaded man" that "would never give up" (100). She admired him for knowing "what I thought only children . . . knew" that you had to "fling yourself at what you're doing" () with the singlemindedness of a child. Over the past century there have been three changes in the orientation of marketing distribution, selling and brand management. The Internet is consolidating the fourth stage of marketings evolution marketing as managing individual relationships with customers (Doyle 000).

Since the heydays of mass marketing in the 150s, through the decades to the twenty-first century, marketing thought has pushed for smaller and smaller groups of consumers as market targets (Schiller 18 cited by Goldsmith 1). Initially the response to meeting customer needs better was market segmentation. Companies brought out an increasing number of product variants to meet the diverse needs of their customers. Media too became more segmented mass circulation newspapers and magazines were replaced by a number of specialised issues, and the digitisation of technology also facilitated an explosive growth of the number of radio and television channels. The most rapid change results from the revolution of information technology. By 001, only a decade after the emergence of the world wide web, a fundamental change in business and society had occurred- a critical mass of people, over 00 million, at home and at work, are able to communicate electronically with one another at essentially zero cost, using universal, open standards (Doyle 00).

Micro marketing is a concept that lies in the area of segmentation. It is a segmentation strategy. In Kotlers et al Principles of Marketing, micro marketing is listed as a level of market segmentation Companies can practise no segmentation (mass marketing), complete segmentation (micro marketing) or something in between (segment marketing or niche marketing) (Kotler et al 1). While segment and niche marketers tailor their offers and marketing programmes to meet the needs of various market segments, they do not customise their offers to each individual customer. Segment and niche marketing fall between the extremes of mass marketing and micro marketing. The aim of micro marketing is to get as close to the segment of one, as opposed to mass marketing which does not consider any segmentation at all. Kotler et al (1) define micro marketing as the practice of tailoring products and marketing programmes to suit the tastes of specific individuals and locations.

The Dictionary of Business, Oxford University Press (16) defines micro marketing as

I agree with the claim that how stable a society is depends on how it reacts to both the extremes of human behaviour, positive and negative.

If we go back in time to see how society gradually evolved, well see that the very basic reason for the formation of societies was to exercise a controlling influence on human behaviour. Early man began to hunt animals in groups. These groups became the tribes. Each tribe was governed by a set of primitive laws. Perhaps it was forbidden to kill a member of your own tribe. Also positive behaviour was rewarded,in the form of titles etc. These tribes gradually metamorphised into todays societies governed by a much more comprehensive set of laws.

There are different types of societies in the world today. On one hand we have the liberal Western societies and on the other we have fundamentalist societies like in Afghanistan. In fundamentalist societies, we often find brutal punishments for crimes. A thief may have his right hand cut off as punishment. These punishments, though inhuman, serve as a very effective deterrent and help to keep in check a society fraught by violence, poverty and illiteracy. That is the reason why such societies continue to exist even today.Rewards for positive extremes often are very rich leading to kingships or chieftainships.

Some may argue that the Western societies despite being more humane in punishments and less rewarding in nature also have managed to survive. This argument though seemingly plausible is faulty. Even in Western societies we have capital punishment. But due to their advanced nature, such societies manage to preserve their stability by other means. Punishment has taken the form of economic sanctions threatening livelihoods. Benefits have become more intangible. But the basic premise that bad behaviour should be punished and good rewarded still holds good.
